Hello Room 19 Families,
I hope you had a great weekend!
Thank you for your patience and support the last two weeks during the 1:1 reading assessments... I am almost finished. I will work with the remaining 3 students tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow night, I will post a small group schedule that will remain unchanged for a few weeks. These small group sessions will mean that there will be days that I work with your child after lunch, and days when I don't, but you will know in advance.
I have updated the grade book in Schoology. Please take a look at your child's grade report. Click "Grades" in the left-hand menu. Be on the lookout for "Missing" or "Incomplete" assignments. Your child can still submit these assignments.
Going forward, I will try to update this grade book every couple of days, so you will know quicker if your child has not completed an assignment that is being graded. However, there are some assignments that don't receive an official grade, but are scored for participation/work habits, and are part of the child's overall portfolio. These include Lexia, ST Math, and some assignments in Seesaw; Unfortunately, not everyone is putting in the time in these platforms and are missing the opportunity to practice and improve their skills. It is important that your child gets in the habit of checking to make sure everything has been completed each day. Thank you for your help!
Warning notices will be emailed tomorrow if your child is in danger of receiving a 2 on the November report card. I am sending notices to those students who are missing many assignments, as well as those who have scored low on assignments and/or the recent reading assessments. There is still a lot of time between now and the end of the reporting period, so we can work together to bring up your child's grade. 😍I will send the results of the reading assessments later this week.
I will see your child tomorrow after the morning assembly! I am so pleased with how hard the class is working each day. 💕
Thank you for all that you do,
Christina Polay
