Hello Parents,
Thank you so much for the new rug. The kids are very happy!
I also wanted to give a HUGE thanks to the chaperones who drove us to the Natural History Museum and to Sanam (Kian's mom) and Maliha (Amber's mom), who supplied us with the snacks. We had a great time! Parents, please send any pictures you have. Thanks!
An important parent survey was sent home today (one per family). The percentage of parents who complete the survey becomes part of our School Accountability Report Card (which replaced API scores). We are hoping to have 100% participation. The classes who collect 100% of the surveys distributed will get a special prize. Please help us! Completed surveys should be returned to me by February 3, but the sooner the better... This Monday would be great!
Kindergarten will be celebrating the Lunar New Year this Tuesday, January 31. Please send your child to school in something red.
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on February 7th by engaging in activities revolving around 100. We need your help. Please sign up to donate supplies or to run a center: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4fafad29a4f85-100th.
All supplies should be brought to school by Friday, February 3.
The 100 day projects are due by February 7. They can also be turned in any day next week.
The Bread and Jam Slam is tomorrow morning from 10-12. We will be making care packages for the residents and families at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless). Students got really excited about helping out when the fourth grade representatives came to speak to our class.
You can access our class calendar by clicking on the Calendar icon on my homepage.
On a different note, I have noticed a tremendous growth in all of my students - they are reading and writing up a storm in class. Thank you for encouraging them to practice at home.
Have a great weekend,
Christina Polay
