I hope you are all well. I miss everyone and would like to do a Zoom call with as many of our classmates as can participate. My son's fifth grade class did it today, and everyone was SO happy to be able to see each other and talk for a few minutes. It was really easy to use, and I think we can do it!
You will receive a separate email with the invitation. It will be a short video conference tomorrow, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. Your child can participate from a computer or cell phone. I have enabled the "mute upon entry" setting, and will facilitate the discussion so everyone has a chance to talk. Have your child come to the meeting prepared to share a favorite stuffed animal or their pet.
I have also posted a new video assignment on our Flipgrid. View the assignment here. Students will view a read aloud of Aisha Saeed's book, Bilal Cooks Daal, and then will make a video about their own favorite food. I would like students to participate if possible. They will need their Flipgrid login information sent yesterday. I have reattached it to this email. We had some students participate in the "At home, but together in spirit!" assignment, but it isn't too late to add your voice to the mix. Please try to watch the video and reply to each other's videos. I got us started by responding to Hayden's video. Our Flipgrids are only seen by our class.
If you are looking for ways for your kids to get inside exercise, check out GoNoodle. You can access the family version for free. https://family.gonoodle.com/
Lastly, I have updated my website's homepage with the link to Mr. Andrew's computer lab links. Click 1st grade to do the lessons. You can also access district links from his Planet Bravo page.
I know this is hard on everyone, but we will get through it!
All the best,
