When I read a biography, I make connections between the events in the subject’s life. One type of connection is cause-and-effect. A cause is a reason an event that makes something else happen. A cause answers the question “Why?” An effect is the result. An effect answers the question “What happens?” Identifying these connections helps me better understand the person’s experiences.
