I enjoyed the conferences -- thank you for your support! We had a lot of fun at the Walk-a-Thon on Friday. Thank you Bianca (Elle's mom) and Dori (Misha's mom) for volunteering, and Dakota's mom (Melissa) for donating water. Click here to view pictures from the event.
Starting first thing tomorrow morning, we will take the three-day persuasive writing assessment. Since we are wrapping up the second Treasures unit, there will not be spelling and comprehension quizzes on Friday. They will resume when we get back from Thanksgiving break and start the third unit.
There will be a math prequiz on Thursday and quiz on Friday. Since we have switched to the Common Core State Standards, not all of the topics in the math textbook will be covered this year. Right now, we are working on fractions and have been given supplemental lessons and materials to use in the classroom. Check my math page for updates.
There will be a social studies quiz this Friday. Scholars will get the study guide tomorrow. You can also download it here. After we complete and review it in class, they should use it to study. We will not make flash cards in class this time, but I encourage them to do so at home.
We are closing in on the end of the Magnetism and Electricity unit in Science. We will take the final test after Thanksgiving (Tuesday, December 3). Students will be given the study guide this Tuesday.
