Hello everyone,

One last week with you until 2016!

On Thursday and Friday, students should wear a white top and black bottom with winter accessories for Winter Sing. 4th grade parents are invited to see the 11:15 show on Friday.

School begins at 8 and ends at 12:30 on Friday.

I will update the pictures page with images from the field trip later this week. Chaperones, thank you for driving and donating your time! Please email me pictures if you have any. Thank you Farnaz Manavi for providing the snacks once again.

Room 10's winter celebration will be at 1:00 on Thursday.

This week's homework assignments are due on Friday, December 18:
1. I'd Rather Read log and paragraph
•   Choose a new question to answer. The paragraph should be written about the book you are reading at home. Be sure to include the name of the book and the author in the first sentence, just like we practiced in class.

2. Math: Problem solving tasks and practice sheet.

3. Science:
  • Read pages 22-25 of Science Resources and answer the questions in the packet.

Have a great week,
Christina Polay

Hello everyone,

Thanks for coming to watch us perform on Friday. I added some new pictures to my pictures page.

Our field trip this Thursday has been approved! Students must wear a Warner field trip shirt and bring a sack lunch. Since part of the trip is outside, students should bring a sweatshirt or jacket.

This week's homework assignments, due Monday, December 14:
1. I'd Rather Read log and paragraph
•   Choose a new question to answer. The paragraph should be written about the book you are reading at home. Be sure to include the name of the book and the author in the first sentence, just like we practiced in class.

2. Math: Problem solving tasks and practice sheet.

3. Science:
  • Read pages 24-27 of Wonders and answer the questions in the packet.
  • There will be a short quiz Friday, on this standard: "Students know that magnets have two poles (north and south) and that like poles repel each other while unlike poles attract each other." To study, use your notes from class and the text book.

4. Poem of the Week: "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson. The assignment for Thursday is optional.

5. Reading Olympians - Iris Set: Iris set quizzes are this Friday. Study the word parts using the concentration cards.

6. Empty egg carton: If you haven't already, please bring in an empty, but clean egg carton (that held 12 eggs) as soon as possible.

Have a great week,
Christina Polay
